TwitPic Now Integrated Into Twhirl

logo.jpgThe popular twitter client twhirl has released a new version that now allows you to upload photos to TwitPic directly from the twhirl client. We recently released an API for TwitPic.

Once the photo has been uploaded, a short URL to access the photo is automatically added to your tweet. Check out the screenshots below to see how it works.

Check out my new Startup & Technology blog

Me and my friend Matt Eber just launched a new blog yesterday called Heartlandish. The blog will cover Startups and technology from the heartland of America since it seems to be an overlooked area.

We will also cover other startup and technology news that we find exciting. I hope you enjoy it.

Convert XLS/DOC/PPT to PDF or SWF Anyone?

I’m looking for an SDK or API that I can use on a *nix box to convert XLS/DOC/PPT to PDF or SWF. Sites like Docstoc and Scribd are doing this and I am wondering how they are doing it. I’ve exhausted my google searching skills.

If anyone has any information on this please leave a comment. I would greatly appreciate it.

Post Photos from your Phone to Twitter with TwitPic

The biggest feature request for TwitPic has been the ability to post pictures from your phone to Twitter. Well as of yesterday, you now have that ability.

Just login to TwitPic, click on Settings and you are presented with your own unique TwitPic email address that you can post images to from your phone or from any capable email client.

Traffic and image posts have spiked and already this new feature has been a great success.

Launched New Company Site

I’ve been neglecting my company website since…well…forever. I know this is a bad excuse, but I haven’t found the time to devote into making something creative for Nusoni.

I’ve been prioritizing my time by which project is getting the most traffic/feature requests and making sure that its running smoothly.

So for now I give you a temporary, just for now, because I didn’t have enough time to do a good design, nusoni.com

TwitPic Featured on Mashable

Social networking blog, Mashable featured my newest project TwitPic yesterday. Its very exciting to see something I’ve built featured on a blog that I read daily and that thousands of others read daily.

The first 24 hours for TwitPic have been better than I could have imagined. The number of photos uploaded are already in the triple digits as well as users that have used the site.

Share Photos on Twitter with TwitPic

TwitPic is a service that allows you to share & comment on photos with the increasingly popular service, Twitter.

TwitPic

How it works
From TwitPic’s interface you can login to your Twitter account, upload an image, & post a status update to twitter with a link to the photo, along with a description.

Another feature is the ability to comment on photos uploaded to TwitPic. The comment is also automatically added as a status update to your twitter profile like the screen shot below shows:

TwitPic

TwitPic was born out of my need to be able to share & comment on photos easily with twitter. I developed it over a weekend, from concept to working site. As always I’m open to feature suggestions.

Digg on the Apple Fanboy Wagon

Digg is one of the first things I read in the morning to get my daily scoop of news. Today when I visited I saw this on the home page.

I can’t lie, I’m a little giddy about the upcoming MacWorld keynote too. I don’t even own a mac, but I do get to play on my parent’s G5 with 23″ cinema display.

I am contemplating switching to a mac, but right now I can’t justify the cost.

What NOT to do with a signup form

I was trying to signup for a new ad management service today, since EchoPic is getting decent traffic, to help deal with different ad services. After filling in all the required fields and double checking them myself, I clicked the submit button to be greeted with this:

“Password must containt a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and no spaces, no special characters.”

Reeeaally now? Would you like me to throw in some complex math equations and a short essay on world peace? I know that analogy sounds a little far fetched, but to your users thats what you might as well be asking them. Thats SIX restrictions on the password field. Thats at least 4 too many.

In the end I didn’t sign up. Make your signup forms simple and don’t force your users to make up new information. Generally users will use the same password for everything, so putting such tight restrictions on a password field is not a good idea.
